Weddings - Channel Your Energies and Deal With Conflict

By Eric Hartwell Weddings can be stressful events not only for the bride and groom but also for other people associated with them. Just like other big events such as Christmas, there is potential for conflict, stress, and arguments. Nobody really knows why this happens, but you can be sure that most people involved in the special event will be feeling some form of stress or loss. Dont forget you and your bride or groom are starting a new life together. This means that your parents, siblings, and close friends will be losing something in their own lives. Conflicts do happen and I doubt you will get through the whole process without at least one bad word, slight glance, or full-blown argument. You can minimize this by communicating effectively, and this is your responsibility. Give other people tasks to do and make them feel wanted and used. They will do the best they can to help you have the most special day of your life. Now is the time to heal any wounds or previous conflicts. Meet up with people and discuss with them what you feel your wedding day ought to hold and how the planning process is an important aspect of the day itself. Perhaps tell people why you have had conflicts with them in the past and, more importantly, tell them how important they are to you on the special day. Tell them why you want them to be there on that day and how they can help you through the process and the planning stage in order to make this day special for everybody. People dont develop conflicts for the sake of it. They develop it because of some hidden agenda or lack of positive communication. Channel the energies that you have into making your special day memorable. Meet up with people that you have had conflict with them and tell them how important they are to you. By closing these wounds, you will effectively have more hands to help you plan and develop a strategy for your wedding day and, not only that, youll have a friend for life. People enjoy helping other people. Eric Hartwell oversees "The World's Best Homepage" intended to be a user-generated resource where YOUR opinion counts. Anybody can contribute and all are welcomed. Business Entities Avoid These Pitfalls

By Richard Chapo In our modern society, you can get sued for just about anything. All it costs is a couple hundred dollars to file a lawsuit. If you are starting a business, you need to protect yourself. Given the number of lawyers [including me] and lawsuits in the country, most business owners know it is wise to open a business entity to protect their personal assets from lawsuits. By definition, businesses offer something to the public be it services or goods. Inevitably, a problem arises. The problem can turn into a full blown dispute and then lawsuits are filed. If your business is not protected by a business entity, this can result in a judgment that can be collected both from business assets and your personal assets. In short, a disaster. Forming a business entity creates a shield that protects your personal assets from such judgments so long as you stay away from general partnerships. While you probably already know you need a business entity, you probably do not know there are pitfalls to avoid when forming them. Knowledge is the key and knowledge I will give you. Here we go 1. Equal Equity In many situations, a business is owned by two people. When they go to form an entity, they often each take a 50 percent share. This is a mistake. Why? If a dispute arises, how are you going to solve it? Each party has 50 percent of the voting shares, to wit, a decision cannot be made. In a worse case scenario, a judge may resolve such a dispute by dissolving the business and distributing half of the assets to each. So much for your future business plans. If nothing else, you are looking at total deadlock in the business. 2. How Many Businesses? Another major problem I see with businesses is they often come up with multiple ideas that work, but put them all at risk by using the same business entity. If you have multiple business lines, form a distinct business entity for each one. If one gets sued, the others will not be impacted or face the risk of a judgment. 3. Equity is Gold The equity in a business entity, such as shares in a corporation, should be treated as gold coins. Would you haphazardly give out gold coins? Of course, not. Yet many businesses will trade large amounts of ownership equity for relatively small sums. This often occurs at the outset of the business when money can be tight. If the business takes off, keep in mind it will grow in value. As it grows, you will really regret giving away 10 percent of the ownership for $20,000 to loan shark Lou. If you need cash, try to get loans from people secured by stock in the business. Once you make the decision to form a business entity, you need to take the time to think through what you are doing. How will problems be resolved? How will ownership be handled? How much money will you need and where will it come from? All of these questions must be addressed or you could really regret the decisions you made down the line. Richard A. Online Boat Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Damian_Sofsian]Damian Sofsian Buying a boat is a major financial decision. Even if you have enough money to purchase one in cash, it would not be a sound move. There is no telling where else you may need to use that cash. A wiser move is to put that money in the bank and apply for a boat loan instead. While your money earns interests, you are already enjoying your boat and paying only the minimum amount due per month. Getting a loan has been made fast and easy. Several lenders or financial agencies have sites on the Internet. They can process your request for application in as fast as a week. And, they are flexible in terms of repayment schedules. Repayment terms for boat loans may be set from five years to as long as twenty years, depending on how expensive your boat is. They may also help design a convenient repayment schedule. You may be given the option to get either a fixed interest rate for the duration of the term or stake a risk and go for an adjustable interest rate. As it is with lending institutions, these lenders charge a boat-loan-processing fee. The amount varies, but the standard practice is to charge percentage of your loan amount. Most will also require a down payment that would range from ten to twenty percent of the cost of the boat. Others may only require about five percent or lesser amount as down payment. You may also have to allocate an amount for a boat surveyor. Banks and even some of these online lenders will require an appraisal of the boat first. They may also want you to pay any liens put against the boat, such as unpaid docking fees. Always consider many different financial institutions first. Then, create a short list of those that can offer you more flexibility. This way, you can get the best package and repayment schedule. Sun Tan Warnings and Precautions

By Tim Gorman As the summer months get closer many people begin to prepare themselves for a very common and soothing activity known as sun tanning. In fact lots of folks have already started working on their tans for summer in the privacy of their own home or in a tanning salon. They are able to achieve nice dark tans through regular tanning sessions with commercial tanning beds and supplies. Speaking of tanning supplies you would probably be surprised at the number of tanning bed supplies that exist on the current market. Items such as tanning lotions, tanning bed parts, fans, tanning accelerators, sprays, lamps, clothes and even tanning tattoos all add to the ability to achieve and enhance your tan in your home or at a commercial tanning salon. If youre in the market for tanning supplies you need to make sure and conduct some research, especially when considering the purchase of tanning sprays, lotions and accelerators. The difference between a good purchase and a bad purchase can have you looking orange instead of the golden brown tan youre hoping to achieve. Another thing to consider when tanning indoors with a tanning bed is the danger to your skin cells. Even though a tanning bed may be safer then obtaining a tan using the suns direct rays its still not completely healthy. The reality is excessive use of tanning supplies when combined with an abundance of tanning could cause a common form of skin cancer known as melanoma. Many health care specialists readily agree that an overexposure to UV rays can be harmful to your skins health. The main difference between a natural tan and an indoor tan can be found in the type of UV rays used to achieve the suntan. Commercial tanning beds use UV-A rays while the sun emits UV-B rays. Tanning bed experts would argue that UV-A rays are better for you because they decrease your chance of suffering a sunburn when compared to the harmful effects of UV-B rays. Additionally they also advocate the use of UV-A rays and sun tan beds because they have been proven to help produce a high concentration of vitamin D which assist in preventing dangerous diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis and even certain forms of cancer. No matter what you believe or read, when using an indoor tanning bed exposure should be limited to a few timed sessions each week of say 15 or 20 minutes in duration. Increased tanning times greatly improves the odds of the powerful UV rays that are emitted from the tanning bed bulbs being able to damage the cellular structure of your skin. There have been some studies shown that tanning beds should be limited to folks that are no longer teenagers as a precaution to prevent overexposure to harmful rays and to prevent serious damage which could result in skin cancer at a later time in that persons life. As you can see even indoor sun tanning can be dangerous to your skin and your health when abused and used excessively. If youre planning on working on your tan for the summer in a commercial tanning bed (whether in your house or a tanning salon) make sure to make smart decisions and limit your exposure time to the tanning lamp rays. Smart sun tanning will not only allow you to achieve that dark golden brown tan you so desperately seek it will also keep your skin safe and prevent you from contracting skin cancer at a later point in your life. He provides more information on the dangers of sun tanning, home tanning beds, bulbs and lamps that you can research in your pajamas on his website. 7 Job Hunting Strategies That Will Improve Your Effectiveness

By Gretchen Reese Has it been awhile since you had to look for a job? Or is this your first time as a job seeker? If you have recently graduated, you may think that job hunting is a huge task. A lot of people are finding it hard to find a better job simply because of the job search strategy they are using. Different strategies should be tested in order for you to find a job most appropriate for your training and experience. A strategy is just a simple word but it is a big help to everybody. Even if you are brand new to the job market, with a good and realistic strategy, you can get any job you want. Having a good strategy makes everything possible. Here are some tips for developing a strategy that will help you more effectively find the job that will suit your abilities and desires. Tip 1: You should assess your personal skills, experience, and other assets before sending out your resume. You should know what you really want to do and what kind of field you would really excel. Understand what excites you and makes your work seem more like play. Then make sure you stress the qualities you possess that would be applicable to those jobs. This will greatly simplify your job search and keep you from positions that aren't appropriate to your needs. Tip 2: Never fight with your limitations. Focus on the things you want to do and that you are currently capable of doing. Never take for granted the opportunities that come on your way. When you are out searching, you will find that the opportunities can and do come. Always have the self-confidence to stay on track with your plan. Tip 3: Don't underestimate the talents and skills you may have. Don't just look at the obvious sources of jobs in your profession. Sometimes a new situation in an area that is different from your past experience may be just the trigger for bringing out talents you didn't even know that you possessed. You may find yourself in a dream job that you never would have considered if you had only looked at the obvious. Tip 4: Another strategy of hunting for a job is to look in the areas that you really love and have a passion for. If you really want to excell in your work, and want others to value your individual contribution, you should have passion for your work. And you should bring that passion with you to your job interviews. That passion will often get you the job over someone with more experience. Tip 5: You should always take into consideration the environment of your prospective job. It should have pleasing surroundings as well as co-workers you will enjoy spending your time with. No matter how much money an employer offers, you won't enjoy it if you are miserable your entire working day. Tip 6: You should always make sure that the job you are considering offers safe surroundings. Don't accept a job that lies in an area of town you are uncomfortable driving in, or that doesn't have a safe entrance and exit. It is also beneficial if it is close to home and doesn't involve long commuting time. Tip 7: Spend a lot of time creating your resume. More than almost anything else, a good resume will get you in the door and get you an interview. Your resume should be a good mirror of your skills, talents, and personal assets. Before a prospective employer meets you, your personality will be assessed on how well you prepare your resume. Carefully incorporating these tips into your job-hunting strategy will help you find the job that will not only incorporate your unique talents, but also be a job you look forward to doing every day! Massachusetts Marriage License Requirements

By Yolanda Nash You are really anxious for your wedding to happen. You live in the state of Massachusetts, however you are not sure how to apply and obtain your marriage license. Well do not worry that is what I am here for. Below I have outlined the latest laws and regulations for applying and obtaining a marriage license in the state of Massachusetts. You must bring a government issued picture identification and social security card. You do not have to reside in the state of Massachusetts to apply and obtain a marriage license. The couple must appear together to apply for marriage license. If you have been previously married you do not need to bring proof, however you must be certain that you are no longer married. The waiting period is three days and Sundays and holidays are included in the three days. You can also get the waiting period waived - According to MGL Ch. 207:30, if both parties are residents, or non-residents, or one of each, and they need to dispense with the three days, they may do so by applying to the judge of a probate or district court to have the license issued without delay, after filing intentions with the clerk. The fees for the license are $4 or more to be paid with cash Only. The state statute stipulates a fee of $4 for the license but it allows cities and towns by a vote of their city councils, boards of selectmen or town meeting, or by a change in the by-laws, to set their own fee. A medical certificate is necessary for each of you unless you obtain a request in writing from a member of the clergy or attending physician stating that the woman is near the termination of her pregnancy or the death of either party is imminent. You may obtain medical certificates from any physician licensed to practice in Massachusetts. You can marry if you are under the age of 18. You should have your birth certificate to show proof of your age. Yes, it is possible for a non-minister or non-justice of the peace (such as a relative or family friend) to obtain special permission to perform a marriage from the Governor. You should check with your local clerk to see if they accept same sex marriages. Ordained ministers of the gospel may perform marriages. Before performing marriages, ministers are required to apply for a certificate from the state. The marriage license is valid for sixty days and can only be used in the state of Massachusetts. These are the latest laws and regulations for applying and obtaining a marriage license in the state of Massachusetts. I suggest that you call your local clerk to confirm the information above. Does Your Marketing Plan Fit?

By Sandra Martini Ask small business owners what they are afraid
of most in their businesses and you typically get
one of two responses: marketing and
bookkeeping. Were going to tackle just the
marketing side today and leave bookkeeping for
another day. Its all too common for small business owners to
avoid marketing their businesses until
they need to. Need meaning that they need
more money and, therefore, additional clients.
In reality, small business owners are no different
from larger companies in that they should be
marketing themselves all the time. Despite that fact, I often hear the following from
my clients: I hate marketing. I dont like the thought of having to sell myself
to people. Im not comfortable cold calling. The above all boil down to the same thing:
a lack of understanding about what
marketing can and should be. Marketing is not about opening the phone book
and calling everyone to see if they want your
services or spamming every email address you
can get your hands on. Marketing allows you to get the word out
about your business. It allows you to tell
people who you are and what you do so that
when they need you and your services, youre
there. Youve already established
a relationship through your marketing, even if
youve never actually spoken with them before.
Studies show that it takes a person
seeing/hearing about you 7 to 10 times before
they remember you. Consistent marketing to
your target audience is critical. Developing a marketing plan that fits not only
your business, but you personality is a critical
part of being a successful business. Maybe
youre the type of person who loves networking
meetings, running a trade show booth and
participating in lots of public events.
Conversely, you may detest networking events
and shun anything remotely related to the
public. It doesnt matter. The important thing
is to know yourself before you write your
marketing plan. Are you an extrovert? If so, go to the networking events; arrange to
have a booth at your target audiences trade
shows; host teleclasses. Work these types of
campaigns into your marketing plan. Are you an introvert? Send newsletters (online or offline), participate
in online forums (such as Yahoo Groups or
Ryze), do direct mail campaigns to your target
audience. You get the idea make your marketing plan
and activities work with you rather than against
you. The overall goal of your marketing plan is to
create campaigns and action steps that reflect
your personality while insuring that
your marketing funnel remains full at all
times. A full marketing funnel has all of the
following:
Prospective clients who have just heard
about you.
Prospective clients who recognize your name
when they hear it.
Prospective clients who feel they know you
and that youve developed a relationship with
them.
If the time is right for you both, prospective
clients who become clients.
It will take some time to get to this level
particularly if you are just starting out. And
thats okay. Just remember that marketing
your business is a full-time activity and should
reflect you just as performing your service
does. Have some fun with it! Online Business
